In Q4 2020, Oppenheimer Partners invested in Genser Energy as Energy Infrastructure is one of the key pillars of its investment strategy and is a sector that supports the changing socio-economic, demographic and growth dynamics across Africa. We have partnered with the founder of the business to jointly drive the next phase of growth for Genser.

Genser Energy has successfully built and operated 6 plants in Ghana to date, with +455GWh energy delivered in 2020, an installed capacity of +140MW, +200km of gas pipeline built and operated and a port offloading facility. More than 246 staff are employed by the company.

Oppenheimer Partners will use its extensive experience, knowledge, and expansive networks across global and African markets alongside the operational expertise and local market knowledge of the management team and lender partners to execute on growth opportunities in such a way that will make a real and permanent contribution to the communities in which it operates.
